Local Civic Journal

Write for us

We welcome considered pitches about local civic places and the details that shape how people encounter them. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise outline is more useful than a finished article attached without context.

Subjects that fit

Pitch a focused piece about a shared place, a public-facing amenity, the design of a notice, a civic record or a local custom. Strong proposals begin with a clear question or observable detail and explain why it may interest readers beyond one narrow example.

Make the pitch specific

Include a working title, the central idea, the form you have in mind and the material you would rely on. Tell us what a reader will be able to notice, compare or understand afterward. Keep claims proportionate, identify uncertainty and avoid implying access or expertise you do not have.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to submit a proposal. Do not send confidential material or assume a pitch has been accepted before an agreement is made. We consider proposals for fit and clarity; submission alone does not promise publication.
