Editorial policy
Local Civic Journal aims to describe local civic places and public-facing details with care. We distinguish what can be seen from what is inferred, use plain language and revise work when a meaningful error comes to light.
Accuracy and context
We check names, descriptions and factual claims against suitable material before publication. When a point is uncertain or depends on context, we say so rather than filling the gap with confident-sounding guesswork. We do not present one place or object as representative of every community.
Independence and labels
Editorial decisions are kept separate from collaboration arrangements. Any paid or partner material is clearly identified as such, so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial endorsement.
Corrections
Readers may send a correction through the Contact page. We review the issue, amend confirmed errors and make the nature of a substantial correction clear in the relevant piece. We aim to correct the record without obscuring what changed.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. Where an illustration could be mistaken for a documentary image, we identify it clearly. Illustrations are not evidence that a particular local place or event exists.
